MEET THE FOUNDER

The person behind Fereward.

I’ve spent my career helping people get better at helping people.

My relationship with motivational interviewing began long before I started teaching it. I learned the frameworks, practiced the skills, and quickly realized that knowing MI and actually using it in real conversations are two very different things.

Those early experiences, working with people who were overwhelmed, anxious, ambivalent, or just not ready for change, taught me to slow down, resist the urge to fix, and trust people to find their own way. That’s the heart of MI, and it’s the heart of how I approach training today.

Over the past decade, I’ve worked across healthcare, behavioral health, serious illness, and organizational learning, training hundreds of professionals, coaching clinicians and leaders, managing teams, and developing learning programs that support real-world practice. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful MI can be when it’s taught in a practical, human way, grounded in real work.

I founded Fereward to bring that experience into a more personal, flexible approach to learning and development, one that leaves room to be human while building real skills that make a difference.
