MEET THE FOUNDER

The person behind Fereward.

I've spent my career helping people get better at helping people.

My relationship with Motivational Interviewing began long before I started teaching it. I learned the frameworks, practiced the skills, and discovered that understanding MI and actually using it in real conversations are two very different things.

Working with people navigating uncertainty, ambivalence, and difficult decisions taught me the importance of slowing down, resisting the urge to fix, and making room for people to find their own way. Those experiences continue to shape how I practice and teach MI today.

Over the past decade, I've worked across healthcare, behavioral health, serious illness, and organizational learning. I've trained hundreds of professionals, coached clinicians and leaders, managed teams, and developed learning programs designed to translate knowledge into meaningful practice.

I founded Fereward because I believe professional development should be more than information delivered in a workshop. It should be practical, engaging, and grounded in the realities of the people doing the work. Above all, it should leave room to be human.
